Ralph William Hantke, 70, of Madison, WI, a former Janesville resident died Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Agrace Center for Hospice and Palliative Care in Janesville. Ralph was born in Janesville on September 13, 1944, the son of Herbert and Esther (Hackbarth) Hantke. He grew up in Janesville, graduated from Janesville High School and from U-W Madison in 1967 with a degree in political science. He was employed by the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services for 34 years.
Surviving are one sister, Ruth Hantke of Janesville, seven nieces and nephews, Robert Hantke Jr. (Debra), Susan Beran (Robert), Sandra Hantke, William Hantke, John Hantke (Ana), Bryan Hantke (Linda) and Laura Malish (Jeff), great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Hantke Sr. and Richard Hantke.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 2940 Mineral Point Avenue, Janesville. Rev. Dr. Cory Rajek will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will meet friends following the burial for a time of fellowship at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or Agrace HospiceCare. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
